Indian School in Lagos denies Nigerians admission. Racism. Where did they learn that from?

OPINION. Bumi Ade. 4/30/2024.

Nigeria has been experiencing discrimination against its citizens by foreigners. Latest News: "Lagos Govt Threatens To Shut Down Ilupeju Indian School Denying Other Children Admission" (naijanews.com). However, Nigerians also face racism and tribalism within their own country by their own government and by their own people. The Nigerian government is rife with corruption and institutionalized racism and tribalism, targeting and destroying businesses of certain groups and voting based on their ethnicity. The use of racial slurs on social media further reveals the deep-rooted racism and tribalism in the country, which only encourages foreigners to join in the discriminatory practices. Nigerians demand respect, yet they often fail to show it to themselves. It's high time for Nigerians to work towards greater equality and respect for all, regardless of their background or ethnicity. Only then can they expect to earn respect from others. Just my opinion.
